A Sunny Day In Glasgow

A Sunny Day In Glasgow are a band from Philadelphia who specializes in music that’s equal part shoegaze, equal part noise-rock, equal part dream pop, and enveloping guitar drones. Sculpting their music on top of faint, wispy atmospherics, the songs they forge floats in light, airy movements. But the shadow it cast are almost dark and murky. Hefty portions of noise quietly seep into the dreamy, celestial landscape. Before long, swathes of noise and reverb form itself into a dark enclave, while underneath it pretty, though haunting and otherworldly, pop vocals lightly drifts by. Though it’s plain to see that music formed by A Sunny Day In Glasgow are mainly pop, it tends to border more on the fringes of ambient music that’s laden with swirling electronics and throbbing synth-lines. Their 2007 album, Scribble Mural Comic Journal is simply rife with songs that match the description above-- it simply is an album to cherish.
