Nickel Eye: Where the Cold Wind Blows

I only found this out quite recently, which most of you may have already known; Nikolai wrote a score for a short film called A Kind of Dream. It’s old news I know, but what I didn’t know was that Nikolai had a part in the film as well, that being the lead character. So now the Strokes’ bassist can also add ‘actor’ to his resume, earning him a dozen more brownie points than the rest of the band members.

But the real reason why I wrote this post was because of this song:

Which actually, kind of reminds me of the song taken from the score which he wrote for the film. The vocals could use some polishing, but apart from that, it's one of his finest. And although I hate to bring this up, I can’t help imagining Julian doing ten times better for the vocal duties. Also included is a pretty piano section achieved with the help of, correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's Regina Spektor.
