Covers, B-Sides, and Rarities: Plain White T's' "Beautiful Girls"

Wow, another post on the Plain White T’s, and I’m not even so crazy about this band as much as some of us, who are. Those who are avid followers of the updated content in ‘Yahoo Music’, must surely have heard of this cover of Sean Kingston’s ‘Beautiful Girls’, by Plain White T’s. First, they released a somewhat average cover of 2007’s pop anthem, Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’, and then decided to do another cover; this time to one of last year’s hottest tracks, ‘Beautiful Girls’. For a “Pop Punk” band, these guys sure do listen to a lot of pop songs, they do. I wonder what’s next, Avril Lavigne maybe?

The remake sounds-- well, it sounds precisely like Plain White T’s doing a cover of Sean Kingston’s ‘Beautiful Girls’. Which is exactly what it is! Surprise…surprise… I know it’s pretty obvious, but it’s a slightly catchier ‘Hey, There Delilah’ version of ‘Beautiful Girls’. Nonetheless, despite of what I may or may not absent-mindedly blurt out, it’s fairly and reasonably good anyway, and you guys will enjoy it, I’m sure (provided that you don’t mind mainstream).
