Michel Gondry’s “Be Kind Rewind”

It’s such a shame that I hadn’t known about Michel Gondry’s new film a lot sooner. The guy comes up with the best ideas in writing great stories; definitely one of the best filmmakers the film industry has to offer.

Previously well-known and praised in his exquisite works such as ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ and ‘Science of Sleep’, this time around there’s a new movie and he’s brought along Jack Black onto the ship. ‘Be Kind Rewind’ is a movie about how two friends re-film and re-create every single movie out of a videotape from a local video store, after all the videotapes was magnetically erased. Some of the film includes ‘Lion King’, ‘Robocop’, ‘Driving Miss Daisy’, ‘Ghostbusters’ just to name a few, the result wasn’t so bad, considering that they became the biggest stars in their neighborhood.

I know that you know that this film is going to be hi-larious, so be sure to watch it once it hits the big screen at the end of this year. It’s funny because it reminds me of those videos on YouTube, I wonder if the movie was maybe, somehow inspired by YouTube.
