The Shins’ ‘Sleeping Lessons’, is probably the greatest song that’s ever been written in the history of mankind. You think this is an over-statement? Well, yeah okay – maybe, a little. But, it’s a song that you must seize the opportunity to listen to when that opportunity is right in front of you. If you don’t than you are one heartless, mindless, soulless living being who deserves no right of walking on this earth. ‘Nuff said.
This new video for the track ‘Sleeping Lessons’ was made by student filmmaker, Antonio Campos and is a project between MTV and SubPoP Records to fund the aspiring filmmaker. The video is nothing what I had envisioned it to be; but all in all, it’s a good effort worthy of receiving some credit. I don’t know what the band thinks about it though and if it was up to me, I’d do it a totally different way. I’m not sure if it’s better, but it’ll definitely be different.

The lyrics are the 2nd best part of the song (as lyrics usually are), I know the words are trying to tell me something imperative, but I can’t fully comprehend it line by line. But, it all makes sense, there’s the title of the song and words that go; you’re not obliged to swallow anything you despise.... Brilliant.
